Sphere Payment Explained: How And When Nigerians Get Paid In 2026
If you’re on Sphere in Nigeria, the number 1 question everyone asks is: When will I get paid?
I asked it too. I wrote 4 articles before I understood how payment works. The information online is confusing.
After reading Sphere’s rules and talking to creators who have been paid, here is the full truth about Sphere payment in 2026.
### 1. The 10 Article Rule Before you can earn anything, you must have 10 approved articles.
This is not 10 published. It is 10 approved by moderators. If 1 is rejected, it does not count.
Why 10? Sphere wants to be sure you are serious before they add you to the payment pool. They don’t want people to write 1 article and disappear.
My advice: aim to write 2 articles per week. In 5 weeks you’ll hit 10.
### 2. How Much Does Sphere Pay Sphere does not pay per view like YouTube.
Sphere collects money from readers who pay monthly subscription. At the end of the month, Sphere shares that money among all creators based on 2 things: 1. How many views your articles got 2. How much time people spent reading your articles
So 1000 views with people reading for 3 minutes is better than 5000 views with people leaving after 5 seconds.
There is no fixed amount. Some months are bigger than others. It depends on how many subscribers Sphere had that month.
A creator I spoke to said she made 15k in her first month. Another made 8k. It varies.
### 3. Payment Date and Threshold Payment is once every month.
To get paid that month, you must hit 10 approved articles before the 25th of that month. Payment goes out around the 1st to 5th of the next month.
Example: If you hit 10 articles on September 20th, you will get your first payment around October 1st to 5th.
If you hit 10 articles on September 27th, you will miss September payment. You’ll get paid around November 1st to 5th.
So try to finish your 10 articles before the 20th to be safe.
### 4. Which Banks Work For Nigerians Good news. Sphere pays directly to Nigerian bank accounts.
Banks that work: GTBank, Access, Zenith, First Bank, UBA, Sterling, Kuda, Opay, PalmPay.
You will add your account details in Settings after you hit 10 articles. The name on your Sphere account and bank account must match exactly. If not, payment will fail.
Withdrawal is automatic. You don’t need to request it.
### 5. 3 Mistakes That Delay Payment 1. Using a different name on Sphere and Bank account. Names must match 100%. 2. Deleting articles after you hit 10. If you delete, your count drops back to 9. 3. Not adding bank details on time. Add it once you see the payment tab.
Also, do not copy articles from other sites. Sphere checks. Plagiarism will get your account banned and you’ll lose everything.
### 6. How To Increase Your Earnings On Sphere If you want to earn more on Sphere, focus on 2 things: consistency and quality.
Post at least 2 articles every week. Sphere rewards creators who show up regularly. The algorithm will start pushing your articles to more people.
Also write about topics Nigerians are searching for. Money, jobs, school, relationships, and tech tips do very well. Check the comments section on popular articles to see what people are asking. Then answer those questions in your next article.
Remember, this is not a get rich quick platform. Think of it like a business. The more value you give, the more readers will follow you and the more you’ll earn.
Start today. Your first 10 articles are the hardest. After that it gets easier.
### Final Advice Do not join Sphere for quick money. Join for long term.
Article 1 to 10 is for unlocking. Article 11 and above is where the money starts coming in consistently.
Be patient. Write consistently. The payment will come.
